Trying to get a m3u playlist to play without any luck so far. Anyone can share an example of a CurrentURIMetaData that works? Thanks!

Power on the Blu-beam Disk player. On the off chance that there is a plate in the player, kindly eliminate the circle. At the Home Screen menu, utilize the bolt keys on the controller to choose Setup - Software Update and afterward press the ENTER button. A New Software Version accessible message will be incited.

      2). Codec Information

Being able to querying the STR-DN1080 for the codec, bitrate, frequency information of the audio stream that it is currently being decoded by the STR-DN1080. The only way to see the codec being decoded is to physically press the Display Mode button on the front panel of the AVR.

As an aside, I'm mystified as to why Sony didn't assign the 'Display' button on the IR remote to this function, as the button seems almost redundant in my opinion.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Yes, please. I don't know if the API is still updating yet, but having this information is crucial.
@grolschie is quite right, it is illogical that this information is not available and that the only way to know which codec is being decoded is to see it on the display.

Hi....I have the Sony 79X900B, which I'm not keen on redesigning for a couple more years at this point (simply while HDR, OLED, HDMI improve and better).

The sound on the 79X900B set is generally excellent for a TV joined with the remote subwoofer (SWF BR100), however I've generally missed an encompass arrangement since I purchased my present condo, where the residing region simply isn't reasonable for an encompass sound arrangement.

This appears as though an incredible arrangement, would in reality fit on my 1200m wide focus media unit (have 2 somewhat taller units bookending the center one).

The sub however, is somewhat huge, I'm accepting that could go anyplace however right, inside a similar room?

@david-åberg much appreciated! I was confused by the name "scan", and yes, you're right, for soundbar, since the audio stream is from TV, so fast forward and rewind is not the primary usage.

I have a 7.2ch Home Theatre AV Receiver | STR-DH790 and I love this Sony product. However, I learned from this forum that production of Sony AV receivers is no longer taking place. Is this news true? I say this because it is still available in some shops in my country.

      Hi @david

Thank you for that. That indeed makes sense. The easy solution for me then is to only query the active input when the AVR is powered up.

      Hi @Kaawin,
Using the setPlayContent to play DLNA content is not recommended I have had mixed results with it and lot of frustration...

It is not your media server that needs to have the AVTransportservice that is for the sony receiver or speaker you want to play the music on.
To make it easier for you to get the correct information your media server should hopefully support the service ContentDirectory. Otherwise you have to fill in the info using the provided examples, it is easy to get them wrong and the error messages you get (if you get any) is not that helpful.

Unfortunately the code examples on developer world have some issues, so it is better to look here https://github.com/sonydevworld/audio_control_api_examples/tree/master/DLNA for examples.

Hope this helped, and good luck!!!

Arrgghh!!! The latest firmware update for the STR-DN1080 has removed the DIAL function from the receiver so my detection routine no longer works! The firmware updates the built-in Chromecast Audio device. Doing some UPnP searches, no DIAL device is detected. And the following file is no longer served by the receiver:
      http://ipaddress:8008/ssdp/device-desc.xml

      Thanks @David.

I'm having problems specifying a frequency using the presetBroadcastStation v1.0 function. If I specify a frequency to store, it is ignored. Even using the sample JSON on the docs webpage.

Whether I specify the frequency, or if I omit the frequency line altogether, it simply stores the frequency that the STR-DN1080 is currently tuned to instead.

This is suits me better actually. But this might confuse other developers as the specification in the documentation (and expected behaviour) works differently for method on this device. The receiver accepts the frequency integer without an error code - and the integer doesn't even need to be in the correct range for it to be accepted.

This should really be mentioned in the method definition in the docs please.
